Account banned? Here's how to appeal.

A clear, step-by-step recovery guide for staff whose TikTok, Instagram or Facebook accounts were suspended, banned, shadowbanned or restricted while posting work content.

Why accounts get banned

Community Guidelines or Terms of Service violation
Copyrighted music, video or images
Spam-like behaviour (mass follow, repeated comments, bots)
Suspicious login or unusual device activity
Multiple accounts from the same device or IP
Reported content (harassment, misinformation, nudity, hate)

Appeal steps by platform

TikTok

Usually 2–7 days

  1. 1.Open the app → Profile → ☰ → Settings and privacy → Report a problem.
  2. 2.Choose 'Account and profile' → 'Banned/suspended account' → 'Still have a problem?'.
  3. 3.Tap 'Need help?' → write a short, polite appeal (see template below).
  4. 4.Or use the web form: tiktok.com/legal/report/feedback.

Instagram

Usually 1–14 days

  1. 1.On the login screen, tap 'Get help logging in' → enter your username/email.
  2. 2.If disabled: open help.instagram.com → search 'My Instagram account was disabled' → submit the form.
  3. 3.Provide your full name, a clear selfie video (if requested) and the email tied to the account.
  4. 4.Reply to Meta's email from the same address — do not open new tickets.

Facebook

Usually 1–30 days

  1. 1.Go to facebook.com/help/contact/260749603972907 (disabled account form).
  2. 2.Upload a government-issued ID matching the profile name.
  3. 3.Submit one form only — duplicate appeals slow the review.
  4. 4.Check the email inbox (and spam) tied to the account for Meta's response.

WhatsApp

Usually 24 hours – 7 days

  1. 1.Open WhatsApp — you'll see 'This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp'. Tap 'Request a review' / 'Support'.
  2. 2.Or email support@whatsapp.com from any email — Subject: 'Banned account appeal — +<country code><number>'.
  3. 3.In the message write your full number with country code, that you use it for legitimate work/hiring communication, that you do NOT use WhatsApp Business API bulk sender / unofficial mods (GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus), and request review & restoration.
  4. 4.If you used an unofficial mod: uninstall it, install official WhatsApp from Play Store / App Store, then submit the appeal.
  5. 5.Enter the 6-digit SMS code when prompted to confirm number ownership. Do NOT keep retrying — wait for the email reply.

Standard Template

Subject: Appeal — account [@username] suspended in error

Hello [Platform] Support Team,

My account @username was suspended on [date]. I believe this was a
mistake. I use this account to share workplace and professional
content only, and I have always followed the Community Guidelines.

I have:
• Removed any content that may have caused concern
• Reviewed the Community Guidelines again
• Secured my account with a new password and 2FA

Please review my account and restore access. I am happy to provide
any further information you need.

Work / Recruitment Focus

Subject: Appeal — Account [@username] suspended in error

Dear [Platform] Support Team,

My account @username was suspended on [date]. I believe this was a mistake.

I use this account only for job and recruitment-related videos — packing, cleaning, warehouse, and factory staff hiring. All content follows your Community Guidelines.

I have:
• Removed any content that may have caused concern
• Reviewed the Community Guidelines carefully
• Removed any copyrighted music
• Secured my account with a new password and 2FA
• Never engaged in spam activity

This account is important for my work and team. Please review and restore it.

I am ready to provide any additional information you need.

Do

  • Wait 24 hours before submitting — duplicate appeals delay review
  • Use the email/phone originally tied to the account
  • Be short, polite and factual — no anger, no caps lock
  • Submit ONE appeal per account, then wait
  • Enable 2FA before and after recovery

Don't

  • Don't create a new account on the same device — it can be banned too
  • Don't buy 'recovery services' from random sellers — most are scams
  • Don't keep re-uploading the removed video
  • Don't argue or threaten the support team
  • Don't share your login with anyone outside the team

Keep records

Screenshot the ban notice, date, and any emails. You'll need them for the appeal.

Shadowban fix

Stop posting for 48 hours, delete recent flagged videos, then post original safe content.
