1. Only use the official client
Never use GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus, YoWhatsApp or any other mod. They violate WhatsApp's Terms of Service and trigger automatic bans — usually within hours of first use.
If you've ever installed one of these, uninstall it and install the official WhatsApp from Google Play or the App Store before doing any hiring communication.
2. Official broadcast vs Business API
- For under ~250 contacts: official WhatsApp + Broadcast Lists (Settings → New broadcast) is fine.
- For bulk messaging at scale: only the official WhatsApp Business API (via approved Business Solution Providers like Twilio, 360dialog, Wati). Anything else gets banned.
- Unofficial 'bulk sender' tools that promise 10,000 messages a day always result in number bans.
3. What triggers bans
- Being reported by multiple recipients in a short time window (the #1 cause).
- Sending the same message to dozens of unknown numbers.
- Forwarding the same job ad to many contacts in a row.
- Using an unofficial client.
- Adding strangers to a group without consent.
4. Safe communication patterns
Only message people who have actively contacted you first or who explicitly opted in. This single rule prevents 90% of bans.
Use templates that include your business name, what the message is about, and how to opt out. Keep messages personal — do not paste the same block of text 50 times in a row.
5. If your number is banned
In-app, tap 'Request a review' / 'Support'. Or email support@whatsapp.com with subject 'Banned account appeal — +<country code><number>'.
Explain you do not use unofficial mods or bulk senders and the number is used for legitimate work communication. Most legitimate appeals are restored in 24 hours – 7 days. See the Ban Appeals page for the full template.
